We had Church service last Sunday & I was busy with the fiddle & was both complimented & thanked. Mither, you wouldn’t pull my curly locks, noo. Persevere with the lower set & I am sure you will be better in health altogether. With those teeth, & see that the Dentist fixes them up properly. Mither, I hope you are looking after yourself & not worrying. How did Siddie get on? Jean’s a brick not arv. And won’t we have a night? Anyhow, the little night on Friday we had quite impromptu will not be forgotten. Well Darlings, I think it wonderful how we all kept up so well, and I hope I will be spared to come back again into your arms. Wasn’t it terribly hard luck that they wouldn’t allow Lockhart to travel with us to the Boat? I was sorry. Did she get her wash on Sunday? Tell Bess to use that other Waterman’s Fountain during my absence. Being on Active Service, the charge might be easier. But I got it off.ĭid you pay the Dentist? Don’t forget to renew the Post Office Box. I had my hair clipped right off today & you would have laughed at the little pigtail that the chap left on for a joke. But never a one of them did I see.Īnd how are you, Darling Mither? Are you worrying? If so, dont! For I am as good a gold. ![]() From where the people entered the wharf, I was right aft, up in one of the life-boats, waving the fiddle-case for all I I thought that perhaps they had all gone to take a trip in the launch. It was a good job you & Dad didn’t come down to the wharf, for after saying good-bye to them I never caught sight of anybody. Jean’s bottle has saved a few lives, including my own. Space is cramped, altho’ we struck the best part of the ship, and it’s an experience wobbling about in a hammock. I have not missed a meal, have not been sick, and the grub is good. The weather has taken a change for to the cold, but so far, I am in excellent health & spirits. This is the fourth day at Sea, and things have been uneventful with the exception of the passing away of one of our ship’s number who was buried yesterday.
